Augusto G. Menocal and Cordova was born on March 13, 1899 in Havana, a descendant of the illustrious patriots on both branches of the family.
He studied painting, drawing and sculpture at the National Fine Arts, San Alejandro Academy, where he graduated as Professor of Drawing and Painting and Drawing , obtaining several first prizes
He held the positions of Honorary professor of landscape in San Alejandro, in the period 1920-1926; It was assistant student of the Chair of freehand drawing at the School of Architecture at the University of Havana, from 1933 to 1934; Head of Decorative Painting Workshop at the Industrial Technical School Enrique Jose Varona, during one year (1933-1934); Professor of (opposition of the department of Decorative Drawing and History of Industrial Art in the School of Rancho Boyeros Jose Braulio Aleman, from 1934-1943.
He was also Advisor to the Director of the National Museum of Fine Arts Professor of Artistic Anatomy of the National Academy of Fine Arts San Alejandro, 1944.
